Here are three reasons (among so many) that you should read the Book of Mormon Everyday…according to me.
#1 Because countless saints sealed their testimony of the truthfulness of the Book of Mormon with their blood.
On this day in 1844 Joseph and Hyrum Smith were martyred by an angry mob at Carthage Jail in Carthage, IL. They devoted their lives to restoring and building up the gospel of Jesus Christ on the earth.
Joseph Smith’s powerful testimony stands as a witness to us today.
Elder Jeffrey R. Holland shares his insights and testimony of the Smith brothers and their commitment to the gospel and this wonderful book.
#2 Because the prophet asked us to do so.
#3 Because it’s true and it will bless your life.
It is just as it claims. Another testament of Jesus Christ. If you don’t have a testimony of its truthfulness, you can pray and ask God for yourself.
At the end of the book, we are given a challenge and a promise.
Moroni Chapter 10:4-5
4 And when ye shall receive these things, I would exhort you that ye would ask God, the Eternal Father, in the name of Christ, if these things are not true; and if ye shall ask with a sincere heart, with real intent, having faith in Christ, he will manifest the truth of it unto you, by the power of the Holy Ghost.
5 And by the power of the Holy Ghost ye may know the truth of all things.
I’ve taken that challenge and I testify to you that the Book of Mormon is true scripture from God, it’s a companion to the Holy Bible and it does, indeed, bless you and your loved ones.
