New Year, New You?
I go back and forth on New Year’s resolutions. I think the beginning of a new year is a great time to take stock of your life and choices and set goals for yourself. I don’t know that we should be taking on ALL our goals at once. I feel like that’s where I get it wrong. This is usually my list come January.
- Lose weight
- Use the gym membership I’m paying for (my “fat tax” as I call it)
- Eat better
- Stop swearing
- Spend less money
- Be a perfect wife/mother/grandmother/sister/daughter/cousin/friend/church member/teacher…….
And my expectations for myself are that I will accomplish all these things by my husband’s birthday in July and THAT will be my present to us both. Ha!!
I’m usually right about being done by a birthday. My birthday. In February. And not done-done, but DONE! So done with this! Done with trying to improve on everything, everyday.
This year I’ve decided that I’m going to do one thing.
MAKE SMARTER CHOICES EVERYDAY.
That’s it.
I can’t lose weight and give up on swearing at the same time. I can’t spend less money while trying to eat all healthy. I can’t be a perfect anything and that’s ok. But I can try a little harder to be a little better everyday.
If you are like so many of us and have set some goals for yourself this year, here are a few designs to help keep you motivated.
Permanent change comes through small, consistent acts. Maybe we need to make better decisions every day for our health.
Jim Rowberry and his family were my neighbors many years ago. He had such a positive outlook on life. He used to encourage those around him in so many ways. This was one of his sayings:
In an effort to be a better person, I feel a strong need to draw closer to my Savior through service, church and worship. As a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, I have the opportunity to serve at the temple. We are encouraged to go at least once a month. This is a punch card so I can track my progress throughout the year. Just like any good punch card, I will reward myself when it’s full!
Although this design is free to print and use, I have legit, glossy cards that will be available for purchase COMING SOON!
